Unused Symbols is not an option

I've just started using ReSharper, and want to check for dead code in my solution. Supposedly in "Code Inspection/Inspection Severity" there are 8 categories, and one of those is "Unused Symbols". This is not what I'm looking at. If I open the window to set up values for Inspection Severity, I do get 8 categories, but none of them are "Unused Symbols". They are:

  • Redundancies in Symbol Declarations
  • Potential Code Quality Issues
  • Common Practices and Code Improvements
  • Constraints Violations
  • Redundancies in Code
  • Language Usage Opportunities
  • Code Notification
  • Compiler Warnings

Also, once I run "Find Code Issues" on my solution, I was hoping to be able to see only the unused code errors. I can't find any means of filters the results except the drop-down list of ways to organize the results. If I set the drop-down list to group the results by Category, "Code Notification" is replaced with "ASP Errors". One of my biggest pet peeves is when documentation or other instructions do not match with the actual options from the program. Excepting this issue, I've had good experiences today testing ReSharper out. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to view the unused code errors?

Hello William,

In order to find all redundand/unused declarations both public and private
you should do follow these steps:

1. Enable Solution-wide analysis for your solution (turn on 'Analyze errors
in the whole solution' option under ReSharper | Options | Code Inspection
| Settings)
2. Wait until solution-wide analysis finishes processing your solution
3. Run Find Code Issues on the whole solution
4. Click the 'Filter Issues...' button on the 'Inspection Results' window
toolbar
5. Leave only 'Redundancies in symbol declarations' filter turned on and
press Ok

Let me know if this works for you. Thank you!
