Inspection Severity not stored to UserSettings.xml

Hello!

I'm trying to develop rules on inspection severity for ReSharper for our project to be shared across multiple users. From a tip in this thread http://devnet.jetbrains.net/thread/275194 I have concluded that distributing the UserSettings.xml file to all developers should do the trick.

However I have encountered an issue that is a complete showstopper for me.

After removing the Workspace.xml and UserSettings.xml ReSharper is reset and sets up the default files when you start Visual Studio. However, after 3 restarts of Visual Studio it stops saving UserSettings.xml (no timestamp update when closing Visual Studio). The main issue however, is that changing the inspection severity settings in options doesn't get saved to the UserSettings.xml. I have tried this several times and at times it creates an empty xml-tag (SeverityTable), other times there is no tag at all.

Have I somehow managed to break the installation of ReSharper? I will try to reinstall it now. Note that inspection severity settings failed to be stored to UserSettings.xml before I started trying to remove the UserSettings.xml and Workspace.xml to reset the settings.

Regards

Hello Robert,

The code inspection settings cannot be shared in ReSharper 6.0. However,
you will be able to do that with upcoming ReSharper 6.1. You can try the
latest build of ReSharper 6.1 from http://tinyurl.com/6bdgz6p. Let me know
if this helps. Thank you!

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

However, the issue that changes to Inspection Severity is not stored between restarts of Visual Studio remains unsolved.

I can confirm that using the EAP build of ReSharper 6.1 does work. However, I work in a med tech company and use of pre released software is discouraged in a production environment. When can we expect the 6.1 version to be released?

"The main issue however, is that changing the inspection severity settings in options doesn't get saved to the UserSettings.xml. I have tried this several times and at times it creates an empty xml-tag (SeverityTable), other times there is no tag at all."

After more research it has become apparent that it is Compiler Warnings that cannot be changed in inspection severity persistently between restarts. Is this a known issue?
