v6.1 - Not Working for Me

Purchased a "full" version of 6.0 on friday 1/6/2012. Today (1/10/2012) I came into the office and was notified a new 6.1 version was available. I downloaded and installed the 6.1 version according to the instructions. R# appears to load into VS10, but i get no context menus, no suggestions, no "marker bar" for any of the file types. It is however eating up hundreds of MB of memory, and makes for very slow switching of doc tabs (even on a quad-core / 8GB ram system).

I attempted the following:

  • Uninstalling both 6.0 and 6.1 and reinstalling 6.1 as a fresh install.
  • Resetting the import/export settings in VS10 and closing it, uninstalling the most recent install of 6.1, removing all registry and file system entries related to "jetbrain" or "resharper", reinstalling 6.1 totally fresh.

Work around was to completely uninstall 6.1 and go back to using the 6.0 version.

Log file of the last attempt at installing/loading the 6.1 version is attached.

Thanks,

-mike

Hello Michael
Does this happen only with your solution in particular or with any solution (even newly created class library)? Also, could you please attach the list of installed products from Help | About Visual Studio? Thank you!

hello andrey. thank for your reply and assistance.

EDIT:

did not try creating a new solution. only used r# within the existing solution we're working in.

i tried a new solution/project and it works a-ok. the challenge seems to be with our existing solution.

here is the output from "help -> about microsoft visual studio":

attached is the output from "help -> about microsoft visual studio".

Hello Michael
Could you please try clearing the caches for your solution (open your solution and then open ReSharper | Options | Environment | General and click Clear Caches button)? Let me know if this helps. Thank you!

also tried moving the caches to the system TEMP dir, but that did not help either.

Hello Michael
Is it possible for you to create a stripped down version of your solution that exhibits the same behavior (by removing projects, files and third-party assemblies while keeping the problem reproducible) and send it to me (andrew dot serebryansky at jetbrains dot com) for investigation? Thank you!
