Hello Mike Stacey-Gee,

No. We are going to release PowerToys for v4 with bugfix update. Which do
you use? I can try to publish those earlier.

Hello Mike Stacey-Gee,

ToString is now part of ReSharper, see Generate (Alt-Ins) -> Formatting members

Hi

I try to understand the API via the PowerToys Source. It would be a great pleasure to have it fo the nre 4.X version of ReSharper!

Now it's painful, because it seems a lot had changed.

PLZ, soon!
I want to understand how to develop a plugin fo Resharper 4.0.
and I don't have any documentations or Sample code.

(Bump) Any further progress on this? The API is so drastically changed in 4.0 (at least in the samples code that I am looking at) that it seems a random exercise trying to port these plugins to 4.0 ourselves. That you have taken so long perhaps also indicates it isn't so trivial.

I've got a few things in mind that I wanted to write as plugins myself but with no documentation or working samples it is pretty frustrating and approaching the point of not bothering and doing a more "traditional" add-in...

(and another bump)

Come on guys, the silence is deafening and frustrating for customers like myself. I see another thread with a similar lack of response.

Do you or do you not intend plug-ins to be built on top of the Resharper 4.0 API ? If so, please start the ball rolling by getting at least some of these powertoys converted which are LONG overdue (as is documentation for the API but that's another story). From what I can see you have changed your assembly structures and object models/namespaces since R#3.0. If you guys cant knock this off in a couple of hours then what hope do we have?

Specifically right now all I personally need is the "MenuItem" sample updated - I've got a couple of things i want to add to the solution explorer window at various levels...

Thanks...

I share you frustration with the lack of progress on this front. As an alternative you might consider having a look at some of the other free, decent open-source plugins like AgentSmith that works with R# 4.1.

Keep well

Hi Carel,

I did take a look for some "supposedly 4.0" plug-ins at the time I did my original post. Maybe I just picked the wrong ones or looked in the wrong place, but at that time what I looked at just used a binding redirection configuration file to allow it to work under 4.0, and hadn't in fact been ported at all from 3.x. I think one of those I looked at was related to NHibernate from memory. If I didnt look at AgentSmith (can't remember if I did) it was because I guessed that it wouldnt have used the parts of the API that I am interested in at the moment (i.e. using the Resharper menu capability to point to my own functions).

As it is "developer productivity enhancements" rather than my day job it all got put on the backburner, I was hoping that JetBrains would have got their act together by now but unfortunately not. I may have to go back to plan B of writing my own add-in. The reason I didnt do this in the first place was because I quite often come up with new ideas I want to enhance in the IDE and writing it all from scratch instead of using the Resharper libaries means many of these will never see the light of day due to lack of time.

Regards,
Grant.

(Bump again)
Just wondering if there might be a release date for the powertoys for 4? In particular I am looking for the cyclomatic compexity plugin.

Hello,

Sorry, building them. Should be published in few days.

A few days?! These are similar to 'Shopping Minutes', as in 'I'm just popping in this dress shop for a few minutes' !

Any progress with this? Resharper is being evaluated where I work at the moment - it would be useful for these plugins to be available for this.

Hooray! Thanks for the heads up...

Hello Mohsen,

It is installed along with plugins.

Sorry, but the Installer is annoying... If I only want to see some
source code I have to install the package, which installs all the
plugins into R#. I think a ZIP with all the projects would be nicer.
