On VS Startup Asks for ReSpeller Pro License

After installing Resharper 2016.2, and starting VS 2015, I went to ReSharper Extension Manager and selected several Extensions. I DID NOT select either ReSpeller product (free or Pro) -- I already know how to spell. Nevertheless, after re-starting VS 2015 I keep getting an error message that ReSharper can't find the license for ReSpeller Pro. I followed directions re unchecking ReSpell in Products and Features, but I still get the message. I even went so far as to remove both ReSpeller products through Extension Manager. STILL keep getting the error message. 

On top of that, though perhaps unrelated, VS keeps crashing when I open a project, or make changes to ReSharper options and extensions. 

Any help greatly appreciated.
