different user
I have VS 2022 running with resharper v2023.2. It works great both as the current user and the current user with admin rights. However, my IT group has decided to remove my ability to give myself admin rights when required and made another user. So when I need to run VS as admin, I need to give a username and password. However, resharper loses all my settings. And even the new version needed to updated in both VS as me and VS as this new admin. Is there something I can do to keep everything in sync?

Hello Martin,
Is ReSharper installed for all users on your machine? Or you install it for every user separately?
Thank you.
I'm ashamed to say, I don't know. It has been a long time since I did a real full install. I normally do updates. So how can I tell if it installed for 1 user or all? That is what you are suggesting, correct?
Hello Martin,
Could you please start ReSharper installer, press Options button and then send me screenshot of the dialog?
Thank you.
I think I may be being dumb right now, but when I run the choose to run re-sharper update as admin, this is what I get. Should I download the installer and run a new install? And as who, me or the admin.
Hello Martin,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
It looks like you are running Check for updates feature from ReSharper | Help menu, not a standalone installer. Could you please confirm my guess? Could you please try downloading installer, run it and click Options button?
Thank you.
Yes, you are exactly right. I have downloaded the installer and I see the button you are talking about (the last checkbox), but it is grayed out. Do I have to uninstall reshaper and then reinstall it to check the box?
Hello Martin,
Yes, exactly. Please uninstall ReSharper and then install with with enabling "Install for all users on this machine" checkbox.
Please let me know how it goes for you.
Thank you.
