ReSharper Pros --

Please help.

- Found an issue in Visual Studio, for the DotSettings file, possibly related to ReSharper?

- I am using VS 2013, Windows 7, and ReSharper 8.2.2, and note that we as a dev team do NOT share our ReSharper settings yet, so we do not want any ReSharper-specific stuff in our source control (TFS).

- At Solution opening, VS prompted for checkout of this DotSettings file.

- The file NOT actually in source control (TFS) at all, so it is an odd-checkout-prompt.

- I allowed the "checkout" and the Solution loaded but first I had to dismiss this warning.

Microsoft Visual Studio

The item C:\Projects\Foo\Bar.sln.DotSettings.user could not be found in your workspace, or you do not have permission to access it.

OK

- In Windows Explorer, I set all perms for Everyone on the file itself, but I run VS as an admin so that is an odd-file-warning.

- In VS, with the Solution open, I went to > ReSharper, > Options, > SaveTo, and choose "This Computer", closed the Solution.

- I deleted the DotSettings file.

- I opened VS and did NOT get a check-out prompt, etc.

- It seemed fine after that.

- Done.

Why did this odd-checkout-prompt and this odd-file-warning happen?

How can I avoid these in the future?

Please advise.

Thanks.
