R# 2017.2.2 - these files, if they don't previously exist, only appear after you close Visual Studio. Too bad if it crashes, eh?

Andrey Simukov as described at https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RIDER-24045 - is by design. It's a feature, not a bug, apparently. Mystery solved. I know that issue is for Rider, I am assuming ...
