VS 2019, Unreal Engine 4.26, Resharper C++ - Very poor performance

ReSharper version: ReSharper 2021.1.4 211.0.20210713

ReSharper occasionally, without apparent reason, slows down the performance of VS 2019 to a degree that everything becomes unusable. For example

  • Typing becomes impossible, the letters get randomly appended/inserted, whitespaces and newlines dont work
  • Scrolling doesn't work anymore
  • Saving a file doesn't work anymore

Visual Studio seems to partly just freeze. It's unusable.

Hello,

We're going to release 2021.1.5 with a fix for this issue as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
As a temporary workaround, please disable Inlay Hints (ReSharper | Options | Environment | Inlay Hints | General) or downgrade to the 2021.1.3 version.

I can confirm that disabling Inlay Hints has resolved the issue. Thank you, I was getting really annoyed.

Also, 9 minutes response time is quite impressive.

I'd like to emphasize that the experience was really quite bad. Essentially broken. Why is this issue not immediately rolled back / hotfixed / proactively called out somewhere?

We can hide it on the Download webpage, but, unfortunately, this version would still appear if the automatic check for updates is enabled.
The new bugfix update is almost on the way, sorry again.
