"action search" instead of "action list" on alt+enter

Answered
Hi, On one of my PCs, Resharper does not show action list when caret is on some symbol (like on class name) or any error / suggestions. It always shows only generic "action search" where there are no context actions available (ie. Create constructor, move class to dedicated file, ...) I have the same latest version of Visual Studio (16.8.2) and Resharper (2020-09-25) on both PCs i use. This is very annoying for me as i am heavy user of those context alt+enter actions. thanks, Boris

Hello Boris Bucha,

Does the problem happen for a newly created solution or it's solution specific problem?

Have you tried clearing caches via `Extensions | ReSharper | ReSharper | Options | Environment | General | Clear caches`?

If that doesn't help, please collect the following information:

  • take a screenshot of the entire VS window including the vertical scrollbar where the problem will be shown;
  • run Visual Studio with the following command line: 'devenv /ReSharper.LogFile C:\log\resharper_log.txt /ReSharper.LogLevel Verbose'. After that reproduce the issue.

After that please upload the screenshot and 'resharper_log.txt' file to the JB server via https://uploads.jetbrains.com/ form. Thank you!

The discussion also took place here: https://resharper-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009951859-Context-Actions-not-popping-up

There was a problem with the "Nuke Support" plugin installed.
