License server - what happens when my PC cannot reach the server?

My company used to use individual licenses.  One of these was installed on my PC and it worked.  Anywhere, anytime.

Now my company has just changed to a license server.  What happens when I am working away from the office and cannot reach the license server?

I see an old post (2014) suggesting that I request a set of permanent tickets.  This appears to be exactly what I require.  The UI to do this is still present in the latest R# release but I get an error back from the license server saying that permanent tickets are no longer supported.

What mechanism is in place now to allow me to work whilst disconnected (on a trans-Atlantic flight, for example)?
