Next version of R# - Timeline?

Hello

We are currently investigating an upgrade path from Visual Studio 2005 to Visual Studio 2008. During this upgrade we are also planning to upgrade from R# 3.1 to R# 4.1. Because upgrade will be done in a couple of months we need to know whether or not we should wait for version 4.2 or even 5.0 therefore I would like to know where I can find a roadmap with a rough release plan.

Thanks in advance

Hello Gabriel Lozano-Moran,

Current plans (subject to change after PDC if Microsoft will give us something
urgent to work on, like new shiny tech) are to release ReSharper 4.5 in Q1
2009. This will be free upgrade, aimed at performance and memory consumption.
We may have few other minor releases, as needed.

Plans for next major release, ReSharper 5.0 are not yet defined, but we don't
expect it to be earlier than Q3 2009. Again, it depends on what we will have
in VS10, C# 4, .NET FX 4 and so on.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov
