long line reformating Follow
I'm having a problem with long line reformating. If I turn off "keep
existing line breaks" then it makes long lines that are much too wide. If I
turn it on then it always adjusts line continuations to the far left of the
new indentation and I always have to manually go in and add a tab or two to
make it look right. So one choice is useless and the other is annoying.
I can imagine a rather simple algorithm that uses the known syntax to break
up a line intelligently. That would be ideal.
While I'm talking about long lines I'd like to mention that there is a
feature I used to love in Visual Assist X that I miss now. That is the
dotted line on the right margin. I code the same files on a lot of
different monitors and I used the dotted line to keep my width consistent.

By the way. I found out that visual studio has a hidden guide line feature
so you can ignore that feature request.
