what can i do to speedup resharper?

In big projects with a lot of files resharper needs 100% cpu time for a
minute or 2 while typing, that makes resharper unusable for big projects.

on small projects resharper works fine, but on small projects i dont need
tools like resharper.

on very (very) big files reformat code takes about 1 hour and > 1 gig memory

Athlon XP, 1 GB Memory, Fast Harddisk

Carsten,

how big are the files where you're typing? I think that delays during typing
depend more
on the size of the file than on the overall size of the project. As a
resort, you can disable background
highlighting on very big files.

As for reformat code, it indeed works a bit slow on very large files, but 1
hour for a file...it
looks beyond my belief. I can only figure out that your system was
experiencing trashing.

I have experienced similar problem with (WinForm) file with about 3000 lines
(1 class inherited from Form)... Sometimes (rare) system hangs for 5-10
minutes with no response (however CPU time is far from 100% on this
process). I've noticed it was related to either class/method lookup or
parameter lookup operations (CtrlSpace and related/CtrlP) or any situation
when ReSharper(TM) suppose to "pop-up" something...

But I don't have much information to be certain whether it's a bug or
something else... ;)

Thanks,
Chepel.
