Are automatic upgrades planned?

Automatic upgrades are being the norm now for software. Are there any plans for ReSharper to support automatic upgrades? Either for EAP or for production.

Also it'd be nice if the upgrade, either automatic or otherwise, didn't have to re-merge the help every time since that's the most time consuming part of the installation.

Thanks,

Sam

Given the current state of nightly builds it shouldn't be considered for EAP
builds grin

Hello,

Automatic updates are a useful feature (for release builds), but they're
not planned for the 4.0 release.

As for EAP builds … well, we currently do not have EAP for 4.0, just the
nightly builds. And the latter are, by definition, too unpredictable in their
quality to upgrade to them automatically.

I'm slowly being forced into using 3.5 features, is there any ETA for the
EAP or even release? Or a FAQ/blog where I can find out since I bet you're
seeing this question a lot.

I'm using both VS 2005 and 2008 on the same computer, and heard (but haven't
tried myself) that I can't run 3.1 in vs2005 and 4.0 nightly build in vs2008
on the same computer?

30 blocker and 97 critical bugs logged in Jira as of today sounds like a lot
of remaining work.
