Beta installation has trashed my R#

I have run the installation of the 4.0 Beta from the downloaded msi. It
offered me the options to repair or remove, and I selected repair. After
the process completed, it told me that it had installed but not integrated
with any Visual Studio. When I ran Visual Studio, I get a message:
JetBrains ReSharper 4 add-in could not to load the supplementary package
0c6e6407-13fc-4878-869a-c8b4016c57fe.
It is recommended that you repair the product installation.

Now R# is not working, I get no active menu items. Nice going!

I have uninstalled and re-installed to no avail...any suggestions?

Update...

By uninstalling and manually cleaning the registry of all traces of R# 4.0 I
was able to re-install build 799 and then build 804. I will stop there and
consider myself lucky!

Still would like to know what I did wrong...

Hello,

I have run the installation of the 4.0 Beta from the downloaded msi.
It offered me the options to repair or remove, and I selected repair.

This means that you already had the Beta installed (as clearly stated by
the installer). Beta is one of the previous Nightly Builds, that one marked
as β-candidate.

The Repair shoudn't have broken the installation, though. We'll run more
tests on this functionality.

Hello,

I tried the same route but to no avail. The error persists.

Would it help to do "devenv.com /setup /resetskippkgs"?

If not, could you please export the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\Packages\{0c6e6407-13fc-4878-869a-c8b4016c57fe}"
Registry key contents?

Does the R# DLL file listed there exist?

If you uninstall R#, what does DevEnv.Exe.Config file look like?

Serge

I have gone back to build 799 and the problem has gone away. When I have
a bit more time I will re-install 804, then the Beta to see if I can
reproduce the "upgrade" path that caused the original problem.

Hello,

Beta IS 804.

Physically. It's the same file (but for the authenticode, maybe).

I did install on work computer (windows xp pro sp 2) and did not experience
this problem.

Hello,

I were able to reproduce the problem. It manifests itself if a Repair us
run on a product that was installed as an upgrade to a previous build of R#4.

Removing the product and installing it again should be enough to fix the
problem.
