Request: temporarely completely disable R#

Hello

I would like to have the possibility to completely disable R# so I can
sometimes test whether strange behaviour is being caused by R# or any other
plug-in without the need to compeltely uninstalling each and everyone of the
plug-ins.

Cheers

Hello,

I would like to have the possibility to completely disable R# so I can
sometimes test whether strange behaviour is being caused by R# or any
other plug-in without the need to compeltely uninstalling each and
everyone of the plug-ins.

That, obviously, cannot be done by R# itself. To perform any activity, R#
has to be loaded, which cannot be then undone.

Visual Studio facilities should be used, just like for any other VS extension.
R# consists of an Add-in and a Package, and you should suppress both the
way VS does. It would rename the add-in file (by changing its extension),
and it would add the package to the "skip packages" category. Doing devenv/setup
after that will remove the UI menus, but that's not necessary, as they already
have no code running behind them.

To revert the suppression, restore the add-in file extension, unskip the
package with "devenv /resetskippkgs", and do "devenv /setup".

PS R# could be put to "sleep mode" through the Tools->Add-Ins menu, but that
will not "completely disable" R# as it does not affect the Package part.
In most cases that's enough, though.
