Hello mike,

ReSharper 3.0 has been released and EAP program for this version is now closed.
We are going to release critical update 3.0.1 very soon, and then we will
have EAP for 3.0.2 bugfix update sometime later in July. These are preliminary
plans, though.

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov

mg> Are there nightly builds for 3.0 aside from the EAP (last update was
mg> 6/6)?

Any information as to why these nightly builds aren't posted any more ?

If the users online could vote, I vote to get them back.

Being a regular user of R# 2.5 and now 3.0, I welcomed the fact that nightly
builds originated from Jetbrains. I used every nightly build up til now,
and tested it first hand.
I just loved this way of working. If some bug existed, I lived with it.
If it was really unstable, I just reverted to the previous stable nightly
build. It was just a great system.

If R# didn't renew its license with every install, you guys wouldn't loose
any money, still posting nightly builds - if this is the issue. Maybe R#'s
licensing already takes care of this, of course, I don't know the reason
of the going back in time.

Please, bring back the nightly builds ? Please ?

Thx,
Dirk

Hello Dirk,

I feel your pain, really. A year ago, when I was not member of ReSharper
team, and there were no nightlies, and when I received "Fixed" notification
I dreamed about instant access to fixed bits. So, now we have nightlies and
they help people a lot. However, it is not always possible to publish nightlies,
and it's because of product cycle nature. Before release we freeze as much
as we can, so we don't break anything. After release we do active development
(e.g. for bugfix update) and often break things, but we don't want our issue
tracker to be overwhelmed with exceptions and bugs we do know about - there
are already a lot of issue to keep track of. So we pause nightlies for a
while so that people work with official builds, we fix critical problems
in them and as soon as bugfix update is about to be released - we publish
EAP builds (see RC and RC2 for 3.0.1 update). When things calm down - we
will open next EAP program and nightly builds will be published regulary
again.

Sincerely,
Ilya Ryzhenkov

I thank you for your explanation, and encourage you to go further on the
road you chose.
You are right in your decision, and I fully support that.
As I am sure your community will ;)

Thx,
Dirk
