I think you need to make sure you're running a recent nightly. My understanding is that the 4.0 RTM build of R# won't run with VS2008 SP1.

Can someone from R# team answer this question, please?

Hello Peter,

SP1 released while it was night here, so we haven't had any chance to test
against released version. With SP1 beta we didn't find any problems.
Personally I already installed it and ReSharper works just fine when working
with ReSharper solution, though I didn't spend quite a lot of time developing
today. And we have only plain C# and VB in the project, no ASP or XAML.

Sincerely,

The trial version works fine with SP1, the only thing that doesn't seem to work is code completion in Xaml (did that work before sp1 ?).

Hello Ilya

Have you tried it against the RTM of R# or against one of the nightly
builds?

Cheers

Which completion scenario does not work?

Hello Gabriel Lozano-Moran,

We are always using latest builds, if they are at all usable.

I can't talk about the extended feature set (like Xaml and all the other stuff), but general C# stuff and analysis works fine.

It is a bit strange in some cases because the new built-in C# parser tends to point out errors at different spots than Resharper does, so it ends up with a bit more... "verbose" experience (not really a bad thing), but it works perfectly beyond that.

That was with the RTM version btw, not a nightly, so I'm guessing the nightly can only work better.

When in a Xaml file I type
"<Label "
Intellisense comes up with list of fields
I type "H" : "Height" is selected in list, ok
I type "A" : selection is removed, not ok - expected selection is "HorizontalAlignment"
The Intellisense popup is the standard DevStudio popup, not the Resharper popup.

I'm using build 4.0.819.19, trial version.
It works fine in a C# file.

We have no auto-popup completion in XAML, but if you click ctrl-space (if
you are using IDEA shortcuts) it will invoke our completion list, that
should respond to acronyms.

Yes, I've seen that but thats not nearly as useful.
Are there any plans to implement this ? This Camelhumping stuff would be extremely handy in Xaml !

Yes, please give us auto-popup Intellisense in Xaml!

I can verify that the intellisense for variables is indeed broken after installing VS 2008 SP1. I can turn on visual studio's intellisense and it works fine. Go back to resharper's and nothing.

0

I tried the latest nightly build (4.0.1 RC1) and it still too has this issue.

0

Thats strange, with Sp1 installed, even 4.0 RTM works fine for me, including the intellisense.

0

I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. It's definately not working for me.

Hello,

What exactly is not working?

After applying SP1, the RTM version 4. 0 does not work well. It slows everything down considerably. Typing any code becomes slow and painful and pretty much unusable. Reinstalling the 4.0 does not improve this any. Only turning it off works. I have not yet tried a nightly build.

I have installed SP1 for VS and resharper nightly build 931, and it
seems it works well with this.
