I am on a Macbook Pro late 2013 edition. I have Windows 8.1 installed using using Parallels 9. I am using VS 2012 (update 4) with R# latest. While Parallels in is Coherence mode, if I use any R# features like `Go To File`, or `Go To Class`, the suggestion drop down that appears is very laggy and rather unusable. However, if I switch Parallels to Fullscreen mode, the R# performance returns to normal - no lag, no stutter.
There are multiple open threads regarding this issue on the Parallels forums - http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?267666-How-to-disable-window-shadows-in-PDfM-8-Coherence-mode, http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?292895-VisualStudio-Resharper-performance-bad-in-Coherence-great-in-fullscreen
In the latter thread, one of the users replies paraphrasing the Parallels support
I did a screenshare with Parallels support and demoed the issue to them. They basically said that they can't fix it. The explanation was bad, but it seemed like it had to do with the speed of transmitting and interpreting UI changes between the two OSs in coherence mode is much slower than the rate at which the ui is changing on things like that resharper menu. I think jetbrains could add an option to make that menu be less spastic.
I searched the forums using the terms `Resharper` and `Parallels`, but didn't find another thread discussing the issue. Surely, I can't be the first person to report this issue to Jetbrains. Are there any hidden options I can toggle to make R# usable under Parallels Coherence?
