I'm having issues with the background scanning of source files slowing down my computer, and due to the nature of the build system and my projects, it seems unavoidable that fairly frequent rescans will be needed. So if it's possible, I'd really like the option to be able to quickly pause and resume this process on a per-solution level (I often have multiple instances of VS open).
I'm aware of the existing suspend option, but this is a bit heavy since it seems to be a global setting. Ideally, all I want is to be able to temporarily suspend heavy CPU usage within a particular solution, in a way that doesn't turn off everything and purge memory, and can be instantly resumed.
Is this feasible?
